From October 2025 through April 2026, Trac provided a reliable, end-to-end tracking solution for our McMaster University shuttle service, operating across 6 buses and 5 bus routes.
Trac filled a communication gap between our commuters and drivers by providing a platform that allows riders to track active buses, see real-time ETAs, and receive live service updates. It also supported our bus drivers by allowing them to broadcast the status of their bus directly to commuters, improving day-to-day coordination and transparency. Overall, Trac helped reduce the frustration of students not knowing where the bus was, or how long they would have to wait.
Beyond the software, Trac's team approached the partnership with a high degree of professionalism, maintaining frequent communication and remaining incredibly responsive throughout the pilot. They delivered continual feature updates and bug fixes that continued to improve the service while it was live.

Drivers power real-time service
With a dash-mounted tablet, drivers begin each shift by choosing their route. Their tablet transmits live location to commuters while they drive, and they update occupancy and availability at each stop to keep the platform accurate in real time.
Commuters ride with confidence
Riders see live bus locations, occupancy levels, and availability for active buses nearby in the Commuter app. They get ETAs to every stop and view up-to-date service information at all times.
Admins keep service up-to-date
Administrators manage routes and stops from a central dashboard. They send push real-time push notifications to update commuters about the service in real-time.
